County council is eyeing up offices

Derbyshire County Council is considering moving some of its staff to empty offices at Amber Valley Borough Council headquarters in Ripley.

A report by Amber Valley officers states that ‘subject to an acceptable business case and cabinet approval’, the county authority would like to occupy a ‘significant proportion’ of its Market Place headquarters.

A spokesperson for the county council said: “We’re looking to close some of our existing buildings in Amber Valley as part of a plan to save money on property bills. It is an option we’re considering as alternative accommodation for some of our staff and services in the area.”
