Council lands top honour

KILBURN Parish Council is to receive a certificate after becoming only the sixth parish or town council in the Amber Valley area to achieve Quality Status.

Derbyshire has 23 Quality Councils in total. The Quality Council Scheme is designed to help in making all tiers of local authority more responsive and more accountable to local people and to ensure that the local community sees the council as relevant.

In meeting the requirements of the scheme and receiving Quality Status, the parish council is sending out a message that it is accountable.

The certificate will be presented to representatives of the parish council by Alan Cooke, a member of the Derbyshire Accreditation Panel, on Monday, April 23
