scouts in Swanwick turned into junior crimefighters last Saturday when they helped police officers hand out advice leaflets.

PC James Mitchell and PCSO Tracy Barks got a helping hand from 25 scouts from the 2nd Swanwick pack to deliver 1,500 crime prevention awareness leaflets to the village.

The Swanwick Scouts are currently working towards the Scouts Community Challenge Award which is sponsored by the Police.

The leaflets had been specially prepared after a recent spate of burglaries.

The Scouts meet on Wednesday evenings, from 7pm to 9pm, at the 2nd Swanwick Centenary Centre, Chapel Street, Swanwick.
