Collisions in Denby

A MARRIED couple were taken to hospital after two cars were involved in a collision in Denby on Saturday.

The collision happened at the junction of Derby Road and Ryknield Hill at midday.

The 61-year-old driver of a micro-car and his 60-year-old wife, who have not been named, were both taken to the Royal Derby Hospital, where the man remained.

The 80-year-old driver of the other car, a Skoda, was uninjured in the smash.

l In a separate incident the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa lost control on High Bank in Denby Village at 7.05am on Tuesday, February 15.

The car hit a fence and then two parked cars, but the 20-year-old female driver escaped uninjured.
