A foundry worker braved a full chest wax in a Heanor shop window on Saturday - all for a good cause.
Chris Carrier, of Eastwood, endured the hair removal procedure in the window of the Headway charity shop on Market Street –raising £210 for the in aid of Brain Injury Awareness Week. Manageress of the store Diane Hatton said the money will go towards raising awareness of brain injuries and its effects. This year the Headway charity is aiming to increase such knowledge among GPs and professionals. She said Chris, dad of Heanor Headway volunteer Sarah Cresswell, showed true grit when it came to the wax. She said: “He never flinched! The money raised is wonderful - £210 is marvellous, it will go a long way to helping survivors of brain injuries.”
You can still donate to Chris via a collection at the Headway shop on Market Street.
