A ‘miniature’ pub has been officially opened beaneath Belper’s Strutt Club - the first of its kind in the town.
The Arkwrights ‘micro-bar’ was opened by mayor Deborah Biss on Thursday, November 21, following a six-week renovation project.
It is being run by Paul Carroll, 46, who has worked as a steward at the Strutt Club for the past five years and previously ran the Old King’s Head in Belper.
A micro-bar or micro pub is a “slimmed down” type of inn which has a traditional atmosphere in a smaller building. However, Mr Carroll said there would still be six real ales on, some from local brewers and others from all over the country as well as a craft beer, lager and stout as well as traditional ciders and perry.
