Over 50 vehicles were stopped during a ‘safedrive’ police campaign in Swanwick.

A checkpoint was set up on Cray’s Hill, where a number of drivers were dealt with for offences ranging from using a mobile phone whilst driving to driving with no insurance.

PC Mark Stokoe said: “Members of the community often report to us that they have seen drivers on their mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt. Initiatives like this show the community that we are tackling these offenders.”
