Charityboyz proud award

BIG-HEARTED chocolate factory fundraisers the Charityboyz have been awarded the Peak FM Proud to be local award for all their good works.

Justin Randall and Jonny Sinclair, who work at Thorntons in Somercotes, were presented with awards at a ceremony last week in Chesterfield’s B2net stadium.

The Charityboyz formed in June 2005 to make a calendar to raise money for the NSPCC and Childline. Since then they have taken part in a variety of events, including the Mansfield half-marathon, charity football matches and walks, raffles, tombolas and cake sales.

The Boyz have organised a football match to raise cash for cancer units for young people in the East Midlands at Alfreton Town’s Impact Arena on Friday, November 4.

Gates open at 6.30pm and the kick off is at 7.30pm. Tickets are £1 and programmes are just 50p which include a lucky programme number for a chance to win a prize.
