British Legion fundraisers said a big thank you to bosses of a South Normanton shopping centre this week for its support during the Poppy Appeal.
Chairman of the Alfreton branch of the charity David Wilson presented the MacArthurGlen Designer Outlet with a certificate thanking the centre for letting poppy sellers collect there for the past four years.
The centre has proved a successful collection venue for the British Legion, which lends vital support to ex-service personnel.
Poppy sellers have raised £11,000 since being given permission to set up a pitch there.
Mr Wilson, also the county councillor for the Alfreton ward, said the certificate was a way of letting the South Normanton centre know how grateful the legion was for its support.
He added: “The present generation of injured servicemen and women have all been injured in the Gulf and Afghanistan. Fortunately with medical advancement, people are surviving injuries they would not have years ago - but these people need lifetime care. The British Legion really helps.”
