Car fire probe in Ripley

Police are appealing for witnesses after two cars were set on fire in Ripley and Codnor in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The first attack took place at 1.15am on Nottingham Road, Ripley, where a Nissan Micra was set on fire.

Police are linking the incident to a similar attack at 2am on Glasshouse Hill Codnor, where a Toyota Avensis was completely burned out.

A nearby garage and a house wall were also damaged by the heat of the fire.

Two men were seen acting suspiciously in the car park of the Moss Cottage hotel pub and police want anyone with information to call them on 101.
