Call out to veterans for new association

The Heanor Branch of the Royal British Legion wants to contact all those who were called up to serve their country from 1939 to 1960.

Member hope to form a branch of the National Service Veterans Association (NVSA) in the area to mark the tenth anniversary of the group. The new branch would be a sub-committee of the nearest branch which is in Birmingham.

The purpose of the association will be to provide comradeship, and welfare support to those who require assistance and provide social and other activities.

For more information call membership secretary Owen Blackwell on 01773 760613, treasurer Terry Whittaker on 07857824565, or Tony Lynch of the NVSA on 07977976752.
