EATS ‘n’ Treats cafe in Eastwood hosted a fun day on bank Holiday Monday to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Staff at the cafe in Nottingham Road saw this week as the perfect time to host the event it because of the Royal Engineers parade through the town tomorrow, May 12.
There was face painting, balloon modelling, games, a tombola and stalls selling plants and cakes.
Cafe owner Elaine Harrison said: “Help for Heroes is such a good charity and with the troops coming on Saturday we thought everyone might be in the spirit and get involved more. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while.”
Elaine, who wants to thank staff and customers for all their efforts and donations, raised £150 and continued with the fundraising throughout the week in a bid to reach the £300 mark by this weekend.
