Store defies odds with profits boost

Bosses at The Factory Shop in Ripley, say the Grosvenor Road store is ‘defying the gloom’ by posting a 15.7 per cent rise in profits since this time last year.

The figures released this week are compared with September 2011 sales figures. A spokesperson for the store said:“We’re well aware of how challenging the economy has become, both for businesses and shoppers, so for us to keep performing like we’ve been since the start of the year, it’s nothing short of fantastic.”

The spokesperson put the success of the store, which employs 12 people , down to low prices and good customer service. The Ripley store opened in November 2010.
