The M&S store at McArthurGlen East Midlands Designer Outlet in South Normanton has been going nuts for children’s hospice Bluebell Wood.

Staff at the store have raised £1,500 for the North Anston-based hospice from a year of events including cake bakes, stepper challenges, and volunteering at the hospice and Bluebell Wood collection days. The dedicated team, who have selected Bluebell Wood as their charity of the year for 2012, will also be donating 2 trees to Bluebell Wood for their memorial garden and holding a ‘beautython’ in September.

The fundraising events, which started in September 2011, were helped along by a Santa Dash around McArthurGlen in December, organised by the centre and charity, and supported by staff from across the 70 stores.

Handing over £1500 to Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser and Fern the Squirrel from Bluebell Wood are the M&S Outlet team at McArthurGlen East Midlands, Junction 28 of the M1.

Bluebell Wood Hospice has also been chosen to feature on primetime national TV, ‘Love Your Garden’ featuring Alan Titchmarsh. The hospice will feature as part of a ‘memory garden’ project, and will be shown on Tuesday July 31st at 8pm on ITV1.
