Future of Alfreton Little Chef hangs in balance

RESTAURANT group Little Chef is to close 67 of its 161 outlets across the UK after the firm announced it was making a loss.

But it is not yet known whether the Alfreton branch of the roadside eateries will remain open.

A spokesperson for the Old Swanwick Colliery Road outlet said this week: “We will be continuing to trade as usual,” when asked about the closures.

The down-sizing will result in around 600 job losses, the firm say. The company said it would work to find alternative employment for those affected.

Little Chef had already gone into administration in 2007 with the majority of its assets bought by current owner RCapital.
