Firms urged to book place at food and drink fair

BELPER businesses are being urged to snap up a stall at the Derbyshire Food Fair being held in May.

The Derbyshire County Council run food and drink fair will be held in the grounds of Hardwick Hall in on Saturday and Sunday May 21 and 22.

People running food and drink businesses, traders and producers use the fair to promote their goods.

There were more than 10,000 people visiting last year’s event. The fair aims to help Derbyshire firms showcase their business to local people and tourists from across the country.

So far more than 70 businesses – making everything from pickles and cakes to wine and cheese – have signed up to take part.

Celebrity chefs Simon Rimmer, resident chef on BBC2’s Something for the Weekend and Dean Andrews from ITV’s Daybreak will entertain visitors with live cookery demonstrations.

There will also be outdoor demonstrations by Martin Dorey from BBC2’s One Man and his Campervan series. There will also be live music.
