Derbyshire-based retailer Sports Direct has been rated as one of the worst shops in the UK in a new poll by Which?
The report asked nearly 9,500 consumers to rate their favourite shops on prices, store environment, customer service and the range and quality of products. Each shop was then given an overall customer score - based on its customers’ satisfaction and how likely they are to recommend it to a friend.
There was no change at the top or bottom of the list, with the highest-performing retailer specialist toiletries and cosmetic brand Lush, retaining its top spot from last year, with mobile phone company EE again at the bottom.
Sports Direct, which is based in Shirebrook, was in equal 94th place with Vodafone.
Which? editor Richard Headland said: “With independent stores on the up in our annual survey, it shows a big name isn’t everything as consumers look for quality in both products and service.
“If retailers can get their products right, along with excellent customer service and a great shopping environment, customers will keep coming back through their doors.”
