Bankers’ boss quits

A FORMER Erewash MP has announced she is stepping down from her position as chief executive of the British Bankers’ Association.

Angela Knight, who was Conservative MP for Erewash from 1992 to 1997, had headed the leading trade association for the UK banking and financial services sector for the last five year.

She said: “I have been at the British Bankers’ Association at a time of extraordinary difficulty and during a crisis of a magnitude that few if any have seen before or expected.”
