Burglary tops concerns at show survey

Nearly half the people who took part in a poll at organised by Derbyshire police and the county’s crime commissioner put burglary and drug dealing and supply at the top of their list of priorities for tackling crime.

These priorities were closely followed by drug taking – an issuehighlighted by by 40 per cent of respondents as causing the most concern.

The 270 questionnaires were completed by members of the public at Bakewell show earlier this month and were were part of an Over to You consultation conducted by Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Charles and his team together with Derbyshire Police.

Other results from the survey revealed that over three quarters of people, 76.7 per cent, who expressed an opinion agreed that the police and the local council were dealing with the anti-social and crime issues that matter in their area.

On this matter, 13.5 per cent neither agreed nor disagreed, and 9.8 per cent disagreed.
