A CAKE making couple have started up a bakery business with a health twist.
Incognito Cakes, run by 41-year-old Russell Johnson and wife Yvette, 29, of Butterley Hill, Ripley, specialise in gluten, wheat and dairy free cakes , and they do all their cooking from their home kitchen.
Russell said: “I was fed up with going out for a meal with my wife, who has a serious wheat allergy, and her not being able to have a lovely delicious cake for dessert. She was always left to have a fruit salad while everyone else was tucking in to tasty puddings.”
The couple currently have cakes on the dessert menus at the Sea Fish Restaurant on Hartshay Hill and Sweet temptations on Church Street, Ripley. The couple, who have three children started a business from home after friends complemented their cake baking.
