ALFRETON: Two rescued from collision near town

Two casualties had to be rescued from the wreckage of a two vehicle collision at Alfreton.

The collision happened on the A61 road between Shirland and Higham, Alfreton, about 9.50pm, on Wednesday, January 8.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The collision involved two vehicles and two casualties who had to be extricated and placed in the care of the ambulance service.”

Firefighters made the vehicles and the area safe for other motorists by about 10.30pm.

Witnesses to the collision can call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101.
