Actor Dominic West is urging local nature lovers to support Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s 50th anniversary appeal.

This year, as the Belper-based Trust celebrates 50 years of protecting Derbyshire’s wildlife, it wants to raise £50,000 for work on its nature reserves.

This will include habitat management, providing equipment for volunteers, looking after the Trust’s grazing animals and working with school groups. The Trust manages 41 nature reserves throughout Derbyshire, and has recently purchased 182 acres of land at Shipley, now known as Woodside, the biggest nature reserve in Derbyshire outside the Peak District National Park.
