A NEW exercise class is set to be a smash in Ripley.
But the organisers of Fun Cardio Tennis, set to take place every Saturday and Sunday at Ripley Tennis Club, say you do not need to be Roger Federer to take part.
The aerobic form of exercise, which once appeared on TV flab-fighting show The Biggest Loser on NBC, sees participants running side-to-side to return balls - but it is not about improving your forehand.
Secretary at the Heage Road tennis club Dean Latham, said:
“No tennis skills are required for this just the ability to hold a racket and move around on a tennis court to up-beat music under the guidance of our fully qualified fitness instructor Rob Hawkins.
“All equipment is provided.”
The cardio tennis classes are free to take part in and are due to run on a Saturday and Sunday mornings, between 10am and 1pm.
The club is running the classes through a Big Lottery Fund grant. For more information, or to reserve a place on the classes contact the club’s coach Rob Hawkins on 07989 396873.
Give it a go, you’ve got nothing to lose!
