WHAT will you be doing to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee?
We want you to get in touch and tell us your plans to mark the occasion as the Queen celebrates 60 years on the throne.
Her majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh will be travelling across the UK, with members of the Royal family.
There will be a Diamond Jubilee Pageant on May 10, 11 and 13 in Windsor, and then from Saturday, June 2, to Tuesday, June 5. Celebrations will take place nationwide and throughout the Commonwealth. This includes two bank holidays for us to enjoy: a late May bank holiday on the Monday, and to celebrate the Jubilee on the Tuesday.
The Saturday will see the Queen attend the Epsom Derby, with The Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the Sunday. Sunday also sees The Big Jubilee Lunch, where people can join in the celebrations with street parties or picnics. The aim being to encourage neighbours, friends and family to get involved and celebrate in their own way too.
And we know lots of people will be pushing the boat out in the Ripley and Heanor area too as they mark the royal milestone.
So if you are celebrating with a party or event at your local pub, community centre, school or just at home then get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
You may be planning a street party or play at your school, or donning royal fancy dress to mark the jubilee – and we want you let us know.
If you have an event in the pipeline then call us on 01773 514150 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or Tweet us at rhnews.
