The A-level and vocational A-level pass rate at Ripley Academy has increased by two per cent to 96 per cent in this year’s results.

A quarter of grades at the academy were A* to A, 40 per cent of the grades were A* to B and 67 per cent were A* to C.

Helen Fozard, the academy’s Vice Principal, said the majority of students had achieved the grades they needed to secure a place at their first choice university.

She said: “Each year the ability of the cohort changes and we are really pleased with the results for this year group.

“Most of the students will be going on to their first choice university which is a great achievement. We are also proud that a quarter of our students achieved the top grades, A* to A.

“Our results in applied science are extremely strong, continuing on from last year when we were recognised with a gold award for our sixth form results in applied science by the Good Schools Guide 2015.

“We would like to thank all of our staff for their dedication and hard work and wish all of our students the best of luck in the future.”
