crackdown on boy racers: Young nuisance drivers who use Ripley as a racing circuit shouold beware as the pollice have launched a new hard hitting drive to tackle boy racers. The initiative allows the police to hand out notices to drivers who persistently cause a nuisance in their cars. The notices serve warning that the police have the power to remove their vehicles after two warnings, regardless of who it belongs to. On the second warning the vehicles can be seized and impounded. Car owners can then only regain their vehicles if they pay a fine. The offender must appear at court.
