G&S society's 45th anniversary concert

One of north Derbyshire's foremost singing societies, founded 45 years ago this month, is preparing for a spring concert with a mystical theme.

The programme, entitled Dream, Fantasy and Legend, will feature a selection from

Chesterfield Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s forthcoming production of Iolanthe.

There will also be a variety of music for chorus and soloists inspired by this theme. Highlights will include a medley from The Phantom of the Opera and the ever popular songs If ever I would leave you from Camelot and Memory from Cats.

Dream, Fantasy and Legend will be staged at St John’s Church, Walton, on Saturday, March 19, at 7.30 pm with musical director, Andrew Marples, and society accompanist, Chris Flint at the piano.
