Heanor Musical Theatre Company is presenting a summer revue All you need is love this week.
The company, previously known as Heanor Operatic Society, changed its name last year, which was its 40th anniversary.
Members decided to tailor make their own show this year following their successful production of All Shook Up last year featuring the music of Elvis Presley.
All you need is love is being performed at Wilmot Street Community Centre in Heanor on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6, starting at 7.30pm.
Group songs include All you need is love, I want to be Bobbie’s girl, Take a chance on me, Chanson d’amour, Love changes everything, What the world needs now and What I did for love.
Additionally, there will be solos and duets, along with sketches, poems and recitations.
A small band will be conducted by musical director Neil Farley.
Dorothy Platts, vice-chairman of the company and co-ordinator of the revue, commented: “We want it to be a fun evening. The songs are light and summery and the readings and sketches are humorous.
“We hope our usual audiences and new people will come and support us in this new venture. We have exciting plans for our future under our new name of Heanor Musical Theatre Company and will announce details shortly.”
All tickets are £5 and are available from the Box office 01773 762042.
