Middle Ground Theatre Company Ltd will present one of the most mimicked and recognisable sleuths of all time Lieutenant Columbo in his first ever case: Prescription Murder at Buxton Opera House from Tuesday, April 19, to Saturday, 23 April.

Psychiatrist Roy Flemming and his wife are celebrating their anniversary when he is called to deal with a female patient. On returning he has to soothe his angry wife with the promise of a vacation. When Flemming’s wife is found dead, Columbo is brought in to investigate and seeds of doubt are planted in his mind. Get ready to see the genius that is Lieutenant Columbo (made famous by Peter Falk) as he pits his wits against a master criminal.

Middle Ground’s cast includes Brian Capron – best know for his role as serial killer Richard Hilman – Gail Platt’s third husband in television soap Coronation Street – a role for which he won Best Actor at the British Soap Awards.

Richard Walsh – Albert ‘Sicknote’ Quigley in London’s Burning – will perform as will Alexandra Boyd – best known for playing Clarissa Mason in Coronation Street. Don’t miss this star studded cast bringing a true small-screen great back to life!
