The Queen’s Head in Belper will be the venue for a return visit next month for the line-up that sold out their last concert there in 2013.
On Friday, September 12, the Chesterfield Road-based venue will host a gig featuring Steve Ignorant’s Slice Of Life, Andy T and Chris Butler.
The Queen’s Head is proud to welcome the line-up back with an ‘up close and personal’ concert featuring these three diverse acts.
Slice Of Life is fronted by anarcho punk band Crass’s frontman Steve Ignorant, a new acoustic project that continues to go from strength to strength. Slice Of Life is an opportunity for Steve to explore the more contemplative side of his songwriting, a far cry from the aggression of Crass.
Those that remember Crass will also remember Andy T, not just a tour support and labelmate of the band but someone who typifies the whole era and genre of what was later called Anarcho Punk.
Also on the bill again is folk singer and songwriter Chris Butler, alive and kicking - anytime, anyplace, anywhere!
Chris is a performer for those who like to mix music, politics and pleasure. Chris’s new CD, titled If not now, when?, was released this summer and The Queen’s Head is the ideal venue to catch Chris in an intimate setting armed with just his acoustic guitar.
You can get tickets from the venue itself at £10 each, or through the post via Belper Gigs, 167 Far Laund, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 1FP. Please add 70p per order to cover postage costs and make cheques payable to M. Jones.
Doors open for this eagerly awaited gig at 8pm.
