Nottingham Playhouse has announced the new sponsor of its annual pantomime, Sleeping Beauty: bus operator and major local employer Nottingham City Transport (NCT).
For several years, Nottingham Playhouse audiences have been able to benefit from Playhouse Saver bus tickets – a special £2 return NCT bus ticket for theatregoers. This year, the two organisations have teamed up again to spread the festive fun of panto.
Nick Lawford, fundraising and development manager at Nottingham Playhouse commented: “We are delighted to be developing our partnership with NCT in this way and are proud to welcome such an important local company to sponsor Sleeping Beauty. We are really looking forward to working with them over the next six months to help bring the world-class family entertainment of the Playhouse pantomime to as wide an audience as possible.
“Given recent cuts to local authority funding, it is so important that we maintain the support of the local business community. It is fantastic that NCT are leading the way, investing in the culture of our city and county.”
Anthony Carver-Smith, Marketing Manager at Nottingham City Transport, said: “The Nottingham Playhouse Pantomime is a fantastic event enjoyed by thousands of our passengers every Christmas, so we were thrilled to be able to show our support in this way.”
Sleeping Beauty is the 31st Nottingham Playhouse pantomime from writer, director and Nottingham legend Kenneth Alan Taylor, starring long-standing Playhouse favourites John Elkington as Nurse Tilly Trott and Rebecca Little as Queen Gertrude. It can be seen from November 28-January 17. Tickets are on sale on 0115 941 9419.
