Rehearsals for Ripley and Alfreton Musical Theatre Company’s forthcoming production of Annie are going well.

Two teams of 12 girls are working hard to perfect their moves as the orphans, ahead of the production, which can be seen from April 8-13 at Alfreton Grange Arts College.

Leading ladies Emily Weston and Olivia Priestly took time out to practise their dog-handling skills at a recent rehearsal with Willow and Barkley, who will be playing Annie’s dog Sandy.

Extra doggie treats were on hand for both Willow and Barkley, who are to make their debut performances in April.

The show includes popular songs such as Maybe, Tomorrow and Hard-Knock Life. Tickets are selling fast. To secure yours, contact the box office on 01773 745082 or visit England Barker Jewellers, Ripley.

Ticket prices range from £8.50 to £11 with concessions available on the Monday evening and Saturday matinee. Special rates are also available for party bookings.

RAMTC’s production will be directed by Phil Simcox with Chris Parkes as choreographer and Dave Adey as musical director.
