Julian Clary will bring his latest UK tour - titled Position Vacant: Apply Within - to both Nottingham Playhouse and Derby’s Assembly Rooms in May.
Back by popular demand, the national comedy treasure and self-proclaimed ‘Lord of Mince’ has extended his unstoppable, smash-hit UK tour, adding a further 31 performances.
Gaining a whole new legion of fans following his Celebrity Big Brother win, 2012 was a stand-out year for the sharp-witted and even sharper-tongued comedian.
Fans have flocked to see the flamboyant star in his element, delivering his now infamous brand of outrageous, no-holds barred comedy.
Still unafraid to push boundaries, Position Vacant: Apply Within is not only a stellar night of comedy, but every evening Julian unashamedly flirts in the face of conformists everywhere, by welcoming a selection of eligible bachelors onto the stage to win his hand.
Julian Clary’s popularity has endured across a three-decade career in showbusiness, which began back in the 1980s when he performed on the stand-up circuit as The Joan Collins Fan Club, with his sidekick Fanny The Wonder Dog.
As much known for his TV and radio profile as he is for stand-up, last year he appeared on TV favourites such as Would I Lie to You?, Q.I. and Live at the Apollo. He is also a Sunday Times best-selling novelist and his third book, Briefs Encountered, was published last March to unanimous praise.
He can be seen at Nottingham Playhouse on May 5 and then Derby’s Assembly Rooms on May 23.
