Ashrow Theatre Company are back with a double bill of plays at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre.
The Importance of Being Earnest is on this week, running until Friday, September 19, while The Merchant of Venice can be seen from October 7-11.
The locally-based theatre company is producing two shows in three weeks with a professional cast and crew almost entirely from Derbyshire and the East Midlands.
Following the huge success of their previous shows – The Taming of The Shrew and Uncle Vanya - Ashrow have taken on the challenge of producing two classic pieces of theatre only three weeks apart, using virtually the same cast for both shows.
Local actor and producer Rowan Scarborough has once again teamed up with Guy Evans who will direct both shows and they are particularly looking forward to working with Jenny Earl as Lady Bracknell.
Jenny won Derby’s Eagle award for her portrayal of the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet last year.
Rowan said: “We searched high and low for someone to play this iconic role as we didn’t want to let Wilde down.”
Tickets for both shows are available from www.derbylive.co.uk or on 01332 255800.
Tickets are priced at £15.25, with concessions and family tickets available.
