Ripley and Heanor Scouts in annual parade

THE Ripley and Heanor District Scouts are holding their annual parade in Codnor on Sunday, April 29.

The parade starts on Goose Lane at 2pm, with the 200-plus Scouts marching along Heanor Road to St James’ Church, Crosshill, arriving at 3pm.

They will return the same way at 4pm.

As the Scouts arrive at the church they will be piped in by the members of the Codnor and Waingroves Bagpipes.

The 3rd Codnor Scouts have just moved to their new headquarters at the miners’ welfare site in Codnor.

The group has places for boys and girls aged six to 14. The group meets on Tuesdays and Friday evenings.
