Highlights from popular opera will be presented in a fully dramatised, costumed production.
Some of the loveliest arias and chorus scenes from
Carmen, La Traviata, Faust and Elixir of Love – with a dash of Mozart and Puccini - will be performed in Dronfield Civic Hall on Saturday, July 2, at 7.30pm.
As costumes swish, feel the hypnotic lure of Carmen; cheer on Carmen’s fellow-workers as they fight like fury; feel the devil’s tunes sweep through the veins like a drug in a scene from Faust; feel the love in La Traviata asVioletta’s friends move as one to comfort her after she is spurned by her lover; marvel at the magic of Mozart and the passion of Puccini.
The pocket opera presentation by Sheffield City Opera will be filled with grand opera moments and snappy and slick choreography.
Tickets £10 (adult), £5 (students and under 18s), including refreshments; to book, contact 07547 230632 or www.sheffieldcityopera.co.uk or buy on the door.
