The concert gets under way at 7.30pm and takes place on the first day of the church’s annual Christmas Tree Festival. It promises to be a delightful festive occasion within a setting of glistening Christmas trees and the fragrant smell of pine needles.

The first half of the concert offers a selection of choral, show and hymn favourites including You Raise Me Up, An American Trilogy, Oliver Medley, Rhythm of Life, Frozen Heart, and You’ll Never Walk Alone (audience participation a must).

The first half will also include solo performances of The Holy City by Matt Dobney and Look Away to Bethlehem, by Rosemary Jones.

Following the interval and light refreshments, the choir will perform a variety of Christmas favourites including you Hear What I Hear, See Him Lying in a Bed of Straw, with solo by Dave Braithwait, When a Child is Born, The Holly and the Ivy, Silent Night, Star of Wonder Medley, Santa Natale, and a Christmas Medley with audience participation.

The evening ends with the choir and audience joining together to sing Let There Be Peace on Earth.

This is the first time the choir has performed at the church in living memory.

The choir was first formed in 1903 and is one of the oldest male voice choirs in the country with an impressive history.

The evening promises to be a special festive occasion and not one to be missed.

Admission on the door is £6 for adults and £4 for concessions and children.
