The popular Jo-Ann and Becky, aka The Haley Sisters, will be playing their special mix of country, folk, blues and rock at Uppertown Social Centre, on Saturday, June 16.
They played twice in 2011 there and it was a sell-out both times and several regulars missed out on tickets. Now they have done it again, so you are already too late for tickets in June, but they are back there in December so make sure you don’t miss out on that one.
Many think they are the most underrated country roots singer songwriters in the UK. Good solid songs featuring a magical blend of vocal harmonies and top notch musicianship are the trademarks of the band, which was first formed in 1989 and have appeared with Freddy Fender, George Hamilton IV and Daniel O’Donnell, to name a few. Becky provides vocals and a powerful rhythm and finger-style guitar. Jo-Ann also sings and is the rock-solid anchor on bass, while Brian dazzles on guitar with his flat picking and slide. Humour and musical diversity mean The Haleys always provide a most memorable and entertaining show.
