The performance at the Assembly Rooms in Derby, starting at 3pm, features classics from Schubert, Mozart, Weber and Mendelssohn, all under the baton of Nicholas Kok and is being given in association with Derby LIVE and Classic FM.

Mark Simpson is also an accomplished composer. He has written commissioned works for BBC Symphony Orchestra, including the opening work for the 2012 Last Night of the Proms.
The clarinet obviously features heavily in the Viva programme, including Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major, K622. This is followed by Weber’s Clarinet Concertino in Eb major. The concert opens with Schubert’s Symphony No.2 in B flat.
