THE Ian Siegal Band make a welcome return to The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, March 11.
The blues maestro is a legend on the live circuit thanks to the quality of his musicianship and the range of his repertoire. It has been said before that, if he had been around in the 60s, Ian Siegal would today be accorded the same reverence as artists such as Van Morrison, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton.
Ian Siegal is a child of the 70s who worked his way up the ladder through hard work and talent. By 2003-04, he was taking part in two successive European tours, opening for ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings and has gone from strength to strength ever since, headlining his own tours and wowing crowds with his unforgetable performances.
Then, on Saturday, March 12, there’s the return of AC/DC UK, acclaimed across Europe for their blistering tribute to the musical legacy of AC/DC.
Their highly energetic live show covers every era of AC/DC’s lengthy career, from 1976’s High Voltage through to 2008’s Black Ice.
At an AC/DC-UK show, you will hear classic hits such as Thunderstruck, Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Rock And Roll Damnation, along with many more anthems in this tribute to the gods of rock ‘n’ roll.
Finally, there’s the return of another old favourite to the King Street venue.
Stevie Nimmo is a regular visitor to The Flowerpot, not just as part of his solo act also with his musical sibling Alan as part of their widely-respected act The Nimmo Brothers.
As a solo act, Stevie’s set has a strong country and western feel to it, so if you like a spot of pedal-steel guitar playing and an acoustic performance by one of the UK’s rising stars, this is the gig for you.
Doors open at 8pm. Admission is £12 for Ian Siegal Band, £9 (£8 concessions) for AC/DC UK and £10 for Stevie Nimmo.
