Jam tribute at The Flowerpot

The Jamm

FANS of The Jam should head for The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, February 18 when tribute band The Jamm hit the stage with their explosive and exciting live tribute act.

Between 1977 and 1982, The Jam, featuring the combined talents of Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, enjoyed a string of smash hits, not to mention five number one singles, including Start, Going Underground and Town Called Malice.

Weller’s apparently sudden decision to break up the band caused their many fans to lament what they felt what was a premature end to the Jam adventure but never fear, because The Jamm are here.

Since their first show in November 1996, The Jamm have been delighting fans of The Jam in many sell-out performances.

This tribute show, backed by the experience of over 2,000 live performances, will take you back nearly 30 years, with over 30 songs covering the whole Jam era all packed into a high energy, authentic performance.

The band’s lead singer, John Southern, is an uncanny Paul Weller look/soundalike and is ably backed by Kev White, bass/vocals, Richard Reid, drums, and Martin Williams on keyboard/vocals.

Then, on Saturday night, it’s the return of Danny Bryant’s Redeye Band, fronted by one of the most talented young guitar aces around.

Since bursting onto the scene, he has paid his dues over the past decade, clocking up endless miles of travelling and fitting in around 2,000 shows in countless countries.

In a career that has seen Danny perform on the same bill as such names as Joe Cocker, Carlos Santana, Greg Allman, Walter Trout, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor, to mention just a few, Danny and his band have steadily carved a huge and loyal fan base around the world.

So far they have released seven internationally-acclaimed CDs and have wowed Flowerpot audiences on their previous visits. Last year saw the successful release of latest album Just As I Am, Danny’s most powerful work, confirmed his position as a man at the peak of his powers.

Doors open for both gigs at 8pm. Admission is £10 for The Jamm and also £10 for Danny Bryant’s Redeye Band. For more details, call RAW Promotions on 01332 834438.
