The Y Not Festival machine has moved into action again with tickets for this year’s event now on sale.
The first difference for this year’s festival is a new, integrated way of getting bands closer to the festival goers.
Via a submission page on Facebook, to be found at https://www.facebook.com/ynotfestival/app_475209442537930, bands upload their own tracks in either Soundcloud or YouTube format.
Y Notters can then listen to the music and request the act they would like to see.
Festival organiser Ralph Broadbent said: “This is a completely new way for bands to broadcast their music on a fair and open platform, but please note submitting does unfortunately not guarantee a slot.”
So the message from Y Not to all the bands out there is to get uploading!
The 2013 Y Not Festival this year runs from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4, at its regular venue at Pikehall, which is situated near to Matlock.
For those wanting to start the party sooner, select the Thursday entry tickets as well (an extra £12/per person) and join the Y Not a day earlier on August 1. Earlybird tickets are £75, after that it’s £79.50.
