DCO to play Brahms and Mozart

Derby Concert Orchestra will return to action with a performance at St Mary’s Church in Wirksworth on Saturday, May 18.

The programme is to be conducted by Jonathan Trout and the concert gets under way at 7.30pm.

The concert will open with the overture to Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, one of the most frequently played of all his works.

After this, the DCO will perform Dvorak’s Violin Concerto, with the solo part being taken by Cristinel Bacanu.

In the second half you can hear the Fourth Symphony of Johannes Brahms, first performed in 1886 and considered one of the great works of the Austro-German repertoire.

Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions). Under 16 get in free with an adult.
