The Pye Hill and District Male Voice Choir will be presenting a Musical Soiree at St Luke’s Church, Loscoe, on Saturday, November 23, at 7.30 pm.
The choir is one of the oldest male voice choirs in the country, dating back to 1903, and the concert is part of a busy year of performances, including a successful tour to Croydon in May and a series of local concerts, which has helped to raise money for charities and good causes.
The concert starts the church’s Christmas celebrations and will include in the first half Every Time I Feel the Spirit, You Raise Me Up, A Portrait of My Love, Jamaica Farewell, and songs from Oliver!
A number of solos will also be performed including Autumn Leaves by Collin Dutton, Reviewing the Situation by Bill Walker, Any Dream Will Do by Dave Braithwaite and Mary Did You Know by Rosemary Jones.
The second half offers a wide variety of Christmas carols including Silent Night, Do you Hear What I Hear, See Him Lying in a Bed of Straw an an opportunity for the audience to join in with a rousing final Christmas Medley.
Everyone is welcome and entry is by payment on the door. For more information contact Malcolm Hill on 07706036946.
