THERE’S more for tribute fans to enjoy at The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, November 18, when The Fillers are the star attraction at the King Street venue.
The Fillers aim to recreate the sound and concert atmosphere of The Killers and dip into the illustrious back catalogue of Brandon Flowers and the boys.
They will be playing Killers tracks from such massively popular albums as Sam’s Town and Hot Fuss, and such classic tracks as Mr Brightside.
On Saturday, November 19, there’s a visit to the venue rock/blues guitarist Larry Miller, the first of a two-part blues bonanza for fans of the genre this week.
Larry Miller’s reputation as a purveyor of top quality blues rock has been established and enhanced by such albums as Larryocaster, Fearless and Outlaw Blues in which his exciting brand of music is given ample scope to impress listeners. Audiences at his gigs are similarly impressed by what they see so this is the ideal opportunity for gig-goers at the Flowerpot to see what all the fuss is about.
On Wednesday, November 23, the latest in the Acoustic Wednesdays sessions takes place in the bar at the venue from 9pm. This week’s guest is Matt Woosey and entry is free.
Finally, The Buddy Whittington Band can be seen at The Flowerpot on Thursday, November 24.
The Texan’s illustrious and busy career as an in-demand blues guitarist has seem him perform all over the world, to great acclaim, and included a 15-year stint in John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.
His self-titled debut album appeared in 2007 and his second album is imminent. With his own band in tow, he will be treating the Flowerpot audience to some great blues tracks as part of his visit to these shores.
Doors open for The Fillers, Larry Miller and Buddy Whittington Band gigs at 8pm.
Admission is £10 for The Fillers, £10 for Larry Miller and £13 for Buddy Whittington Band.
