Supporters of The Royal British Legion in Derbyshire are staging an Honour Walk to celebrate our Armed Forces, past and present.
The six-mile walk around Ladybower Reservoir takes place on Sunday, September 25, and starts at noon.
Community Fundraiser, Christine Selden said: “Everyone will be walking to show their support for someone, be it a family member or friend, that they know who has served their country. We would like as many people as possible to join in and walk ‘in honour’ of the Armed Forces. Even if you don’t know someone who is currently serving, come along and walk in honour of a veteran or for all those who are willing to give their lives in the service of the country.
The Legion spends £1.4 million a week on welfare services and we’re hoping the money we raise will go a little way to helping them carry out this vital work.”
This walk is one of many taking place across the country to help raise funds for The Poppy Appeal.
Walkers can pre-register by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning 07973 750816.
