They say you shouldn’t work with children and animals: the Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir will ignore part of that adage when they welcome guests from Nottingham High Junior School at their Christmas concert.

These 40 boys were winners of the Bolsover Junior Choir Competition and will be joining the Phil tonight (Thursday, December 17), at 7.15pm in the Crooked Spire church.

The Carols with the Phil concert will feature traditional favourites such as In the Bleak Midwinter and O Holy Night as well as festive offerings composed especially for the Phil by former St Mary’s School music teacher, Philip Hanwell.

Tickets £10 for adults, £5 for children and unemployed and £25 for family (two adults and up to three children aged 16 and under) will be available on the door, from choir members, and also available at a reduced price and with a ten percent booking fee online at www.
