Party plans are well under way for one Belper church as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee approaches
Volunteers at St Peter’s Church have arranged three days of events to mark the occasion in June.
Organiser Tracy Drake said: “We plan to celebrate in style along with the rest of the town to ensure a fun-filled, flag waving weekend of celebration.”
On Saturday, June 2, the church is hosting a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert at 7.30pm featuring many talented musicians and Belper Town Wind Band.
On Sunday, June 3, it will be taking part in the Big Lunch, which is a nationwide street party and picnic event. On Monday, June 4, people are invited to enjoy old-fashioned food and drink as well as fun and games.
