Derby LIVE will be hosting an outdoor film screening on two nights, showing two popular films.

Ghost will be shown on Friday, August 12, followed by Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Saturday, August 13.

Presented by QUAD, Derby’s centre for art, film and digital media the screening will take place in the newly refurbished craft village.

It will be the perfect summer experience, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque park before seeing one of two brilliant films.

To complete the experience there will be an array of fresh food on offer. The Orangery Café will have three food platters available to pre-order. In addition to the platters there will be pizza, popcorn and everyone’s favourite drinks to choose from.

Ghost is an all-time classic. When a mugging leaves Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) dead and his lover Molly (Demi Moore) grieving, Sam’s ghost stays behind to warn her of impending danger. But she can’t hear him or see him.

No-one but reluctant psychic Oda Mae (Whoopi Goldberg) can and she doesn’t want anything to do with him. But with Molly’s life in danger, can Sam save her in time? Ghost is a great combination of romance, comedy and drama, unmissable on the big screen.

Ghost will be screened on Friday, suitable for ages 12-plus and tickets will be priced at £13.

From a galaxy far, far away to an outdoor cinema screen, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an action packed, funny sci-fi epic that heads back to the world established in 1977’s Star Wars.

Three decades after the fall of the Empire, a new threat has risen. The First Order are attempting to rule the galaxy and only a small group of new heroes and some old friends can stop them.

2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be screened on Saturday, suitable for ages 12-plus and tickets will be priced at £13.

Car parking will be available at the pay and display Markeaton Park Craft Village car park, accessible via Markeaton Lane.

The screenings will take place on hard standing ground and there will be limited seating available, it is strongly advised for customers to bring their own seats.
