New Year opportunities galore at Derby dance house

Dance and fitness enthusiasts are being given an extra incentive to keep their New Year resolutions with the chance to win six months of classes free of charge at Derby-based regional dance house Déda.

Everyone who signs up to the 12-week social dance, styles and techniques or health and well-being class programme and attends ten of the weekly sessions will receive a free Déda branded water bottle and be put into the prize draw.

Clare Limb, Déda’s head of dance development and learning explained: “There is always a great deal of interest in our class programme in the New Year with a combination of people making resolutions to learn something new or get fitter and healthier.

“There is also the ‘Strictly’ factor with people being inspired to take up dancing having watched their favourite celebrities do so well on the popular

television programme in the run up to Christmas.

“This year we wanted to give people the added incentive to stick to their New Year resolutions with the pledge programme and we hope that this encourages people to stay on track throughout the year.”

There are a wide range of adult classes available at Déda in Chapel Street, starting in January. Call 01332 370911 to find out which classes are part of the

Pledge offer as some exclusions apply. Déda offers a class programme from Argentine tango, ballroom, and ballet to rock’n’roll, belly dance and burlesque. New courses focusing on aerial skills as well as physical theatre, alongside regular classes in Zumba, commercial and contemporary.

Claire Limb concluded: “With around 50 different classes a week now in the studios at Déda, we are confident that we have something for everyone –

whatever their age, tastes or previous experience.

“The class programme is designed to be fun and sociable – giving people the opportunity to make new friends and learn some great dance techniques.”
